Jax saw that Sallie was consumed by fury and still wanted to slander Lucinda. He realized she was foolish and immediately distanced himself from her.
“My sincere apologies. I didn’t mean to offend you earlier. I hope you won’t take it seriously,” Jax said to Lucinda.
He quickly regained his composure and displayed a flattering smile.

They began to argue violently.
